The credit union will be CLOSED
July 3, 2015
In Observence of Independence Day
On June 17, 2015, the board held a Special Membership Meeting to respond to any member questions about the merge and the future of the credit union and to officially count the ballots the credit union received in person and through the mail. We mailed approximately 1238 ballots, received 198 (16%) with 177 (14.3%) voting in favor of the merge and 21 (1.7%) voting against the merge.
Besides the 4 board members, there were 7 members in attendance asking questions about what was in store for the members of the Prince Kuhio FCU and what would be the reality of establishing a branch office in Kapolei. Hawaii FCU President / CEO Cindy Geiling and Vice President / CFO Steve Goo were present to provide answers to the members.
We want to thank everyone that submitted ballots, including the 7 that came in after June 17th, and want to thank those that took the time to attend the meeting in person. Detailed information about the questions and responses will be available for review on request at the credit union office.
July 31, 2015 will be the last day of operations for the Prince Kuhio Federal Credit Union. Effective on August 3, 2015, we will become a part of the Hawaii Federal Credit Union ( https://www.hawaiifcu.org/). Fortunately, Hawaii FCU is hiring the PKFCU staff, which will help the merge to transition smoothly. For information about Hawaii FCU, click on the link above. We all look forward to servicing your financial needs in the near future.
The Prince Kuhio Federal Credit Union's mission is to provide financial services that meet the needs of our members, assist those of low and moderate income, and promote community economic development.
